Food Styling: Pasta pasta!
This is what we have to do for our 2nd test. It is not individual anymore. This is what we called fettuccine seafood carbonara. And this is 1st time we made a dish that we can eat. Yada yada yada. This time, we used available light as a lighting source and for the background, we simply put a white cloth.

Individual Test
Bonjour.Ni hao.Assalamualaikum.
For today post, I just like to share one of my experimenting concept of photo.
Fruit splash photography. I don't know whether this concept is acceptable for my food styling test or not. But this is the only idea that I can figured it out. I try to think outside from the box. Instead using usual props, what the other things I can use to make it become more attractive. So I think by using this concept, I can give a different point of view.
My 1st attempt of fruit splash photography.I hope the pictures are good :)

food styling: chapter 1
Subject: Food Styling Class 1
Task: Cereals, Hot and Cold beverages, Salads & Chips
Food Stylist & Photographer: Kamil, Azhan & Aina
This shot is taken using Nikon D200 plus Tamron AF 17-50mm f2.8. I just used one light for the lighting sources and place it aboved from the subject. I used a light tent that i've got by cutting one of my cardboard box.
In my opinion, cold beverage is the most dificult thing to shots. The rule of thumb is, you guys need to find fake ice (which is not available in Malaysia yet and it is expensive) and spray the outside of the glass with the corn syrup+water to get a cold breeze effects. So from what I stated, I don't have all of these equipments and my cold beverage doesn't look tempting.
This is one of my favorite photos. And it is taken by Azhan using Sony Alpha 350 plus 18-70mm lens.
In order to get a great photo of food, simplicity is the best method to used. Don't make a mess like putting so many props on top of the table.
